The Roosevelt Network @ Binghamton University
Binghamton's only student policy organization
OUR VISION
The Roosevelt Network at Binghamton University is a Student Association-chartered, non-partisan, progressive policy organization. We are affiliated with the Roosevelt Institute, a liberal American think tank that exists to “carry forward the legacy and values of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt by developing progressive ideas and bold leadership in the service of restoring America’s promise of opportunity for all.” Additionally, we are part of the large Roosevelt Network of colleges and universities with over 130 chapters across the United States.
Our goal is to improve the local Binghamton community through policy creation, advocacy, and discourse. We provide our members with a platform to voice their thoughts and develop unique solutions to local issues in an effort to create positive change in our community. We research, write, and advocate for policy solutions to different community issues. As a student organization, we help students become accustomed to the Binghamton community through community service opportunities, guest speakers, current events discussions. Additionally, we offer many leadership opportunities for students looking to gain experience leading a club including internships with the Executive Board and Policy Leads for the eight policy areas.
Do you want to help change the world? Do you want to write public policy and promote it to different organizations and government officials? Our General Body meetings are usually on Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm, typically in the University Union (location is sent out in the weekly email) or held online over Zoom depending on room restrictions.
